Dear New Frog Families,
Welcome to the World of Cool Amphibians! Sparkle and Faith are very excited about their new homes! I wanted to touch base with you about equipment and a pick up day.
We have leopard frogs, and there is a lot of info on the internet about their care. Here is what we are doing for them. We have an aquarium with a "wall" of plexiglass that we glued in. The wall separates the water side from the dry side. The dry side has dirt and then moss on top of the dirt, so should they want to burrow, they can. We always wear a latex glove when cleaning the tank because the oils from our skin can harm their skin.
We change the water about once a week or week and a half. We scoop out all the water and pebbles, rinse the pebbles really well, put the pebbles back, and refill the tank. We use plain tap water and add a de-chlorine-ating agent to it. Then we also sprinkle water over the moss to keep the moss damp.
We feed the frogs every other day or so. I have a "cricket keeper" so I never have to touch them! Before I buy crickets, I put a slice of sweet potato AND some Fluker's Cricket Food (it looks like yellow jell-o and this provides hydration for the crickets as well as good things for the frogs) in a cap from Gatorade or a cap from a water bottle. Then the crickets get dumped into the keeper and their food and water is all ready.
That is about it! They don't need to be walked or brushed and seem content without any chew toys :)
When would you like to come get your new pet? They are ready to go to their new homes!
Please feel free to holler with any questions or if I flat forgot to mention anything.
Thank you SOOO much!
Love, Mrs. G
Darn. I'll keep you posted.
